What Are The Different Types Of Head Injury?
A head injury is a major cause of death for children and adults around the world. It can be caused by a simple shot or struck in the head, or a more severe trauma, like a car accident. Symptoms usually are based on the type and severity of head injury. The most common types of injuries are head trauma, skull fractures, and intracranial hematoma. In order to determine what type of injury that a person has, should usually be examined by a doctor.
concussions are known as a mild head injury. Adults and children often receive a concussion after hitting his head during a fall, a bike accident, minor accident, or sports. Symptoms include headache, confusion, unconsciousness, memory loss, and vomiting that can last a few days or weeks. Normally, doctors treat a concussion, recommending that patients stay off his feet, get plenty of rest, and may prescribe drugs for symptoms. skull fractures are caused when there is a break or fracture of the skull bone.
There are four types of skull fractures, which are linear skull fractures, diastatic skull fracture, depressed skull fractures, and skull base fractures. The most serious skull fracture is a fracture of the skull basic. In more serious fractures, a person can have severe headaches, not being able to walk or balance, or it may be in a coma. A period during the night or long term stay in a hospital, it is often necessary for many people who have this type of head injuries.
intracranial hematomas are commonly known as blood clots in the brain. Blood clots can occur in different areas of the brain. If the clot is located within the skull and on top of the brain, it is called an epidural hematoma. If the clot is located within the skull and outside the brain, is called a subdural hematoma. This type of head injury is usually severe because if left untreated, can lead to death.
Any type of head injury can usually result in short-term or long-term symptoms or damage. Several measures can be taken to prevent head injuries. For example, both adults and children must wear helmets when riding bicycles or motorcycles. In the case of a car accident, all passengers must wear seat belts at all times. By practicing good security measures head, head injuries can be reduced around the world.
