The crimes of embezzlement
16 Lawyers were sentenced today to prison terms ranging from five to 18 years in prison in the process by billionaire Foncolpuertos embezzlement.
The sentence was handed down by Judge Third Specialized Bogota who found them guilty of representation of former employees charged in false records of payment of social benefits.
According to the investigation of an anti-corruption prosecutor, the sentenced falsified a little more than a thousand minutes of settlement, allegedly signed before the Regional Labour inspectors Barranquilla, to demand the payment of social benefits presumably not accorded to former workers at Ports of Colombia .
The prosecutor stated that the records submitted to Foncolpuertos were false and that the defendants participated in the preparation, processing and collection of money.
On these facts, the Court found responsible for the crimes of embezzlement and malfeasance aggravated by appropriating a share to the following people:
Alvaro Emilio Beleño Flag sentenced to 220 months imprisonment, Esperanza del Carmen Escorcia Cervantes, 62 months in prison, Jose Alfredo Araújo Escalante, 124 months imprisonment, Nicholas Salinas De la Cruz, 200 months imprisonment, Diogenes of Jesus Palacio Rodriguez 60 months, Doris del Carmen Pernett of Albor, 128 months imprisonment, Luz Patricia Jiménez Urquijo, 112 months imprisonment, David Bustos Joaquin Cantillo, 136 months in prison, and Ricardo Jose Torres Morales, 112 months in prison.
For crimes of embezzlement and malfeasance tempted by appropriation per share were affected: Antonio Orozco Ramon Castro, who need to purge 71 months in prison; Clodomiro Bernal Enrique Martinez, 58 months in prison, and Luis Carlos Cantillo Sanjuanelo, 60 months in prison.
Embezzlement by appropriation aggravated malfeasance per share, falsification of public documents and criminal conspiracy were affected: Reinaldo Rafael Maldonado Rojano, Myriam Elvira Suárez Donado Vergara and Ivan Pulecio sentenced to 220 months, 210 months and 200 months in prison respectively.
Finally, the judge sentenced Robert Martin de Castro Martinez to 95 months in prison for his role in the crimes of embezzlement by appropriation tempted share prevarication, falsification of public documents and criminal conspiracy.
