Enters into force the new traffic law

On May 25 came into force the new traffic law. The main objective of the reform carried out in the Act is to increase the effectiveness of penalty points, which means reducing the time between the offender and paid the fine.
The deadline to collect a penalty, before applying the new law, stood on average between five months and two years. The reform is expected that 25% of offenders who do not pay their fines, which incidentally are the most errors of this type accumulate, can not escape the long payment and other administrative processes. Those who discussed the violation, the amount paid automatically, is a reduction in the total amount of the fine.
Some of the new reform measures included in the traffic law are:
* Remove the driver’s license suspension as a sanction, which applied for serious and very serious. Year some 100,000 could suspend driver’s licenses.
* The amount of fines is the same for all the national territory so that a minor infraction will pay 100 euros, 200 serious and very serious 500.
* Increased from one to four years the limitation period of financial penalties and is intended the total proceeds from those fines to improve road safety.
* Is reduced from 27 to 20 the number of sanctions involving removal of points.
* New penalties:
1. Set your browser while driving becomes a serious infringement of the card and deducts points.
2. Bring a plate unreadable, but it remains serious violation points.
3. Parking in spaces reserved for disabled becomes a serious offense without deduction of points.
4. Allow a person to drive our car without a license is also considered a serious offense, but we do not subtract points.
5. If you’re riding without lights and reflectors on the bike, misdemeanor.

From November 25 the changes become operational computer processing of sanctions. Then it will be possible to receive e-mail or by phone a notification of fines and replaced the publication Provincial bulletins violations by publication on a website.
